Why the Duncanville Forum Is Not on Social Media

The Duncanville Forum is committed to fostering thoughtful civic conversations that deepen understanding and shape shared solutions for the public good. These conversations require trust, context, and care.

To support that mission, the Forum does not maintain active social media accounts.

While social media plays an important role in public communication, it is not always the best format for the kind of in-depth, reflective dialogue we aim to promote. The Forum prioritizes environments where people can slow down, engage meaningfully, and focus on shared understanding.

Instead, we share our work through our official website and publishing efforts. Community members are encouraged to explore, reflect on, and share Forum content in ways that support civic engagement.

This approach reflects our commitment to:

  • Transparency through accessible public information

  • Respectful dialogue across differences

  • Civic spaces rooted in reflection, not reaction

We believe that meaningful community conversations begin with thoughtful design—and that includes the platforms we choose to use.
